Dogs can get overzealous — even competitive — with canine housemates when it comes to receiving an owner's attention or other good things, like toys and treats.

An excited dog may unintentionally bulldoze other pets when he moves in to say hello or get a reward. But in many cases, an enthusiastic dog can be taught to patiently wait his turn for attention or treats.
